Melbourne shuffle, is a type of dance commonly found in Australia. It consists of two main moves; the running man and the shuffle. These two moves have many variations to add to the style of the dance.
Running Man - running on the spot?
Running man is basically made up of 3 positions or steps. The first one is where you are standing on one leg and the other leg comes up, kind of like you are taking a step. After that, that suspended leg comes down forward while the leg on the ground slides back. Now you have some sort of triangle stance. Note that this part may be a little difficult. The sliding motion of the grounded foot is more of a small small hop backwards. It is still grounded while moving back though. After the triangle, put the backfoot into the "taking a step position" and slide the front foot back into the middle. Again, the slide is more of a grounded hop. Now repeat.
